Tenkara Trip

In September we traveled to Driggs, Idaho and West Yellowstone with Tenkara Rod Co for some fall fishing and film projects. We hiked into Bitch Creek and I caught my first native cutthroat with my tenkara rod. Van hung out on the shoreline with the rest of the crew or Drew packed him on his back as he waded through the river.

After a few days fishing in Driggs we headed to West Yellowstone. We watched Old Faithful blow and stood face to face with a mama elk and baby elk. It was amazing watching the elk roam among the buffalo and we really felt like guests in their territory. We stayed in Drew's office for a couple nights, a cabin for a few nights, and camped in Smiley Creek.

By the end of the trip we were dirty and exhausted, but we had such a great time. We drove around 15 hours and 1,000 miles and Burt ran like a champ. I am still amazed at the guts our van has. Don't forget to pick up a Tenkara package here for a fun Christmas present to get out and fish!
