Halloween

Happy [belated] Halloween from the E.T. family!

I was Gertie, Van was E.T., and Drew was Elliot. Just a few items from the thrift store and we were good! I wanted to get more creative with Van's costume, but we settled for face paint and I really wish we would have gotten him a mask. All night people thought he was a monkey or had no idea who he was without looking at us three together. It looked like he had chocolate smeared on his face! I imagined painting a wrinkly alien face, but obviously I quickly found that to be an impossible task with a wiggly toddler--plus he was being grumpy!

Halloween night we went to our church Trunk or Treat and decorated our VW van like an E.T. mobile and had Drew's bike out with a basket tied to the front. Jimmy stood guard of the candy in his cute prison outfit. After it got dark we went home and put Van to bed. That night we had our friends over for a movie themed Halloween party and we hung out, played games, and ate snacks until past midnight. It was a fun Halloween!
