Christmas Tree Hunt

Idaho City is the place we typically go to chop down our Christmas tree. They are never the strongest or prettiest trees, but the adventure along the way is what makes it a fun family tradition. While Drew and Jimmy hiked until they found the best tree, I played with the kids in the snow. Afterwards we warmed up in my new "mama mobile" and went into town for some dinner and hot chocolate. Can't wait to decorate the tree and sit next to the fire waiting for Christmas!

Linder Farms

We love going to Linder Farms in the fall! We made it a little later this year than I wanted, but it was still so much fun. Van loved riding in the choo choo and playing in the corn, Liv stayed cozy and happy next to me, and we had fun hanging out with my sister Kylie and her husband Spencer. I am so happy to have family close by, but especially excited I can share things like this with a sister who actually lives in Boise now!

Also I dyed my hair a dark purple, but it turned out looking almost black except for in the light. Hopefully I can get the color I want one of these days!

Silver Creek

Summer thunderstorms, man. We were camping in Silver Creek and it started pouring rain, our tent was lighting up and blowing in the wind, the thunder was roaring, and I was about ready to pack up my kids and take them home terrified we would get struck by lightning. By some miracle the kids slept through the whole thing. Let's just say I didn't sleep much that night because I was too busy being protective mama bear. Drew was fishing during the storm and by the time he got back to camp the storm had passed. It was a crazy night, but the boys caught some monster browns on mice flies so it was all worth it.

4th of July

^ Fun at the parade
^ Beach day at Cascade Lake
^ just because
^ celebrating my dad's birthday and Van shunning the camera
^ waiting for the fireworks

Family reunions are the best. Full of outdoor activities, family time, late nights, unfiltered snacking, and holiday festivities. There's so much comfort in returning to the same place year after year creating new memories with our growing family. Cascade is one of my favorite places for these reasons.
