We made the decision to sell the bus. Sunset sold on Ebay yesterday and I hate to say goodbye. As sad as we are to let her go, it was the right thing to do. Here's why...
That cute little baby boy of ours cost a whole lot of money and not a dime was covered by my insurance. Since this unfortunate discovery, our goal has been to get out of debt. Not the frivolous credit card kind of debt, but the responsible kind- like school loans and hospital bills. In order to reach this goal we have to make some sacrifices.
Child safety has also become a priority. There were no seat belts in the bus and we needed something a little newer and more reliable. Then we found this blue '89 Volkswagen Vanagon.
Meet Moonrise. Drew calls her (or him) Burt. She runs like a champ and even blows heat! Moonrise may have some rough edges, but for the price we couldn't pass her up. Now we can still have two cars, own a VW, and finally go on that bus trip to the coast.
It's not easy to cut back, but you know what makes it better? Having my own little Van man in my arms. He might not be the kind with a pop top, but he certainly is the kind that brings a smile to everyone's face.
HAHAHA good grief i love that last analogy. best van there is, is your (human) baby.
