Treefort Music Festival

Last month we went to Boise's Treefort Music Festival with a couple friends. It was such a fun day! We walked around downtown, ate lunch at the food trucks, hung out at the skate park, and ended the day with my favorite--an ice-cream potato! If you're ever in Boise you need to stop by Westside Drive-In for one of these, it is so good. Read more about it on my travel blog here!

We didn't actually end up going in to watch the bands play because it was expensive and we have babies with sensitive ears. This got me thinking and I realized I don't keep up with the music scene anymore. I have never been into radio music [except classic rock] and always used to dig around and search for new bands. I would make CDs and mixes for all my friends and music was a huge part of my life! I'm not sure what happened!

Since this realization I have tried to challenge myself to listening to music more. I almost always have records playing in my home, but they are the same ones--Beatles, Led Zeppelin, She&Him, The Shins, etc. Despite how many bands I listen to I keep going back to my favorite band, The Shins. If any of you have any rad bands I might like please let me know! Or any cool playlists out there? I need a fun summer one and I would also like a cool workout playlist. At this point in my life I'm feeling pretty open to finding myself in the music world again, but I am also okay with loving the old.
