Van's Birthday Part 1: The Party

We celebrated Van's birthday a little early this year with family. We invited everyone over to our new house for some cake and ice-cream. Van was dressed in his birthday shirt and I worked all morning making him a VW bus cake. You should have seen me an hour before the party; cake batter was literally in my hands like pudding and then it broke in half! I thought the cake was doomed, but I patched things together and there's nothing a little frosting can't fix!

Van played with his cousins in his new VW bus tent we got him and especially loved tugging on his giant "1" shaped balloon with fists full of cake. I still can't believe my baby is one. Time goes by too fast! I am so proud to be his mama and nothing in this world makes me happier than getting to spend every day with him.
