life lately

the days of sleeping in are long gone
when the cooing of my newborn wakes me up.

every few hours i sit and nurse
until his smile assures me he is done.

diapers are changed frequently,
and sometimes outfits too.

if i'm lucky a nap in the swing
is just enough time to do my daily exercise.

i finally get the chance to catch up on emails
and do some shipping for my business too.

not everyday is as productive as the last.
on a good day, i'm showered and ready by noon.

it's weird how life changes. how your routine changes.
and even how your body changes.

sometimes i don't recognize myself,
and if i dwell on it i get sad.

then my husband reminds me change is good.
you are more beautiful than ever. you're a mother.

  2. Some day soon Van will look at you and say "mommy prittys" and all the physical changes to your body suddenly melt away in the sweetest of moments. "I wuv vu" also really helps.. The good and the bad news is that your schedule will continually change as Van grows and suddenly you'll wake up one morning and realize this schedule finally fits your life perfectly, like your life hasn't skipped a beat and you have a buddy by your side through it all.

  4. i am not a mother, and that is one thing i am most definitely afraid of when i become one (if i ever do, i hope so) -- how my body changes. however, i know it will be well worth it.

moms are so wonderful. you are, too!

  7. drew is a sweetheart and he is right! you will get used to the new routine and even your "new" body. after i had baby number 2 i would constantly ask myself what i did with all my time when i only had 1! motherhood is great, and after having 3 kids, i FINALLY feel like i'm getting into the groove of things. most of the time anyway :)
