sunset makeover

we finally got around to our next bus project! the side panels were looking bare and water stained so we stained them a nice rich brown color. it was as easy as dipping and wiping! it's not perfectly even in some areas so i will probably go back to fix it. after the masking and staining we moved on to the next project on our list!

reupholstery. reupholstering the bus is quite the task. remember this tutorial? well, after i painted the ceiling drew decided the bus was looking too girly. with the bright curtains and pops of color everywhere, i have been asked to tone it down a little bit. that's what you get when you're the only girl in the family!

i wanted to make the interior as close to the original '73 westy as i could. the original has a mustard vinyl interior and brown, yellow, and white lumberjack plaid curtains. vintage materials are expensive, so we opted for a great brown upholstery fabric and cute brown plaid curtains you will see next! it actually looks a lot better this time around.

sunset is feeling fresh and looking good! we're ready for a road trip.
