It was Saturday and we packed a few rods and our swimsuits for a day trip to Tripod Meadows. Van loved splashing in the water and before too long Jimmy joined him, then the fish quit biting so we headed to Pine Flats for a relaxing afternoon soak. The hike in winded alongside the Payette River and I could hear Van and Drew behind me giggling as he purposely ran into tree branches while taking selfies. It's the simple things like this that make my heart happy.
