Bend, Oregon

On our way to Bend, Oregon we stopped several times to explore roadside attractions. It's also nice to give Van and Jimmy a break from the monotonous driving. We couldn't believe when it began to snow! It was like we were in a giant snow globe. When we got to Bend we crashed at a hotel and the next day went to the Big Wave Challenge at Mt. Bachelor where professional surfers snowboarded.

After the competition we went to the Deschutes River for some fishing. I explored the river bank and hiked around while Drew fished. Van was happy as long as he had his little tenkara rod in his hand. While we were in Bend Drew met with a fly shop and we went thrifting and scored Van a cute Patagonia fleece that can be used by all our kids. We love Bend and can definitely see ourselves living here someday if we ever had a reason for it other than the great outdoors!
