van is not a huge fan of the snow despite my several attempts to get him excited about white stuff. i even tried different times of the day with no real smiles outta him. van had been sick with the croup for a while before christmas so that may have played a role in his attitude, but we pulled him around in a sled anyway--bundled up of course. drew took van for a few spins around the backyard on grandpa's four wheeler and shortly after we went inside to warm up. it wasn't exactly the first snow day i had imagined, but i'm quickly learning that the "firsts" aren't always happy ones.
