Power of Dad

A few weeks ago I was randomly contacted by someone in New York about using my college graduation video for a Father's Day project. They were even offering me money so of course I was skeptical. Too good to be true right? Well, the pay check came in the mail yesterday. Legit.

My dad and I got to be part of Oral-B's Father's Day video, you can see us at about 50 seconds. I still can't believe it! I'm convinced my sweet daddy's smooches were the selling point. He has always been a great support to me in many ways and I know how much he wants me to succeed and be happy.

When I was engaged my dad took me out on a special daddy-daughter date. I was about to get married and he wanted to talk about how I was feeling. He looked me straight in the eye and asked, "Do you love Drew? Does he make you happy?"

I remember looking down and thinking... I think so! "Yes, of course!" I replied.

Then he told me, "I can see that you love him. You are happy. You just don't know it yet."

I took his word for it. I really did. You see, I have always been indecisive so getting married at a young age was both a blessing and a challenge. Other feelings seemed to fog what I knew deep down to be true. Thanks dad, for reminding me.
