Checking In

Wow, time is flying by. A lot has changed since you heard from me last. I had my first baby! His name is Van, inspired by our love for VW busses, and he is the cutest dang thing in the world. I am honored to be his mama.

Van turned one month old today! It has been quite the adjustment learning how to find the balance with my new life. This has not been easy for me, a girl who has been running her own schedule for quite some time now. I sometimes feel as if I am a "walking boob" for lack of a better word. I think I will just have to get really good at multitasking. There is so much I want to get done, but then I find myself forgetting everything else and giving in to Van's irresistible warm baby snuggles. We are taking our sweet time with things, and I'm okay with that.

This last month has been full of ups and downs. From the c-section, recovering from surgery, nursing, family and friends visiting, and doctor check ups- things are slowly returning back to normal. Life has never been better, and I can't wait to keep you in the loop once I get the hang of this new mama thing.

A few good reads---> my hospital bag / first night home with Van / Aunt Ky meeting Van

  1. Ok, little Van is adorable! We are going to Boise in a few weeks to look at Granite. We would love to stop by and see you guys and your little babe! I'll call you when we kinda know when we'll be there.
Also, I got a little teary eyed reading the link about your first night/ten days. Flood of memories but oh how sweet they are. Motherhood is emotionally draining and hard but so worth it when they smile or hug you or when little van is connected to your boobie. I bet you are the best mom to him. Pray a lot and you will always find comfort. I had a "mom" week last week and they are hard but with your good husband things will always be bright. You are so cute meg and your little family! hope to meet the little guy in a few weeks!

  8. Oh that photo...the white on white, the lighting, and that precious little Van. Seriously takes me breath away.

Adjusting to motherhood is not easy...crazy how much changes over night, and suddenly everything revolves around that tiny person. Thank goodness for the immense love you feel!! :) You're an incredible mama already Megan, loved reading your sweet words about him. And I totally cracked up and thought "Amen!" when I read you sometimes feel like a walking boob. HA! ;)
