Back in 2008 when we were dating, Drew got me a Shins t-shirt and coupon to see The Shins live for my 20th birthday present. I was so excited because The Shins are my favorite band! I kept checking tour dates, but we were starting to think The Shins died until they came out with a fantastic new album. Finally, my coupon could be used! Drew and his sneaky ways planned a trip to Reno, Nevada just to see The Shins play. That's the closest it gets for us Idaho people. We are loyal fans!
With a little help from my Instagram I was able to take some pictures at the concert. The Shins were amazing live! When they started playing "New Slang" I could not stop smiling. That is my all time favorite song. It had been so long since I've gone to a concert I had almost forgotten how much I love music! The crowd cheered for an encore and The Shins came back out to play five more songs! It was awesome.
14 hours round trip, $100 on tickets and hotel, and $150 on gas was totally worth it. I am always down for an adventure with my hub, even if it is four years too late.
