I have never really seen the point of April Fools Day. Who came up with it anyway? We don't get school or work off and nobody ever says their favorite holiday is April Fools Day, but who am I to complain I love any excuse for a holiday.
April Fools Day with Drew is absolutely ridiculous. Any chance he had to say April Fools, he gladly took it.
People's Facebook statuses. For example, Kylie: "Looking for an internship with NGOs in Spanish speaking country... Peru would be nice, any info?" Drew: "April Fools you don't really need an internship."
"I don't love you." April Fools.
"You're fat and ugly." April Fools.
"I've been meaning to tell you. It's going to make you really mad so I've been hesitant to say anything. It may affect our marriage......."
I get serious for a second and think of the worse thing possible, but I also have a feeling he is full of crap.
"I watched the latest episode of Modern Family without you. April Fools!"
Pheew, what a relief!
"It's snowing today, that's spring saying April Fools."
But this was probably his worse April Fools joke. We were walking out of his office at midnight and Drew knows I'm a wuss and am afraid of the dark so he snuck around the car and hid under it. When I came out to the car he jumped out and freaked the heck out of me! I couldn't scream because people were sleeping so I just got really mad. That was not a cool April Fools joke, considering I actually do imagine creepers and rapest stalkers hiding under my car or in the back of my car for some weird reason. Not nice to make one of my greatest fears a reality Drew. I'm just thankful it was him and not a psychopath.
So in the end Drew taught me a valuable lesson about April Fools Day and got me thinking that there really is a purpose for it. Maybe April Fools Day is a holiday to help us find reasons to laugh and make other people laugh. We get so caught up in the stress of life that sometimes we forget to not take life so seriously. Thank you April Fools Day and thank you Drew for making me laugh.

ReplyDeleteoh my gosh. I would've have flipped if anyone jumped out at me in the dark. I get freaked out when I walk into my dark apartment! UGH! I feel your pain!
