Equality Disease

Since the beginning it has been like this... if you give candy to Kylie, then you better have some to give Lisa and me too.

My husband, Drew, has so kindly pointed out to me what he calls my case of "Equality Disease."

What is equality disease? Similar to "floppy disease" and "impatience", "equality disease" is in fact another among this list that is not created in the mind no matter what critics might say. Symptoms include: can't do anything that requires physical activity while other person is not, frustration, uptightness, grumpiness, reaches a heightened state in week of menstruation, getting mad or jealous of other person if they're doing something and you're not...

Well defined Drew.

Possibly part of being a triplet has diagnosed me with this disease. It's not my fault that I was trained to think that if I have to wash the dishes by hand he should at least dry. It was that way with my sisters! Chores and tasks were always dispersed between the three of us, we all had to do something. For holidays or special occasions we all got the same amount of money to spend or else it wasn't fair! This simple and perhaps ignorant thinking has unfortunately been transferred to my marriage... and Drew is the new patient.

I'm sorry hub, I will work on doing things more on my own and without asking for help. I will even take the garbage out in the cold snow AND get the mail!

So does this mean if I make dinner you no longer have to do dishes?

  2. pretty funny meg! I am not sure if its about being a triplet or just being from our family. We were all taught to work hard like everyone else. I expect Mitch to help out where and whenever he can and he expects me to do the same. It's just one of those differences that take getting use to when you become married.

  5. Drew is sly, and he has a way of making you do the dinner AND the dishes. Maybe he learned that from someone...
