This week I started working at the Buckle, someone finally hired me! I wasn't expecting it at all, I actually got recruited. The Buckle attracts those who wear brands like Affliction, Sinful, Ed Hardy, Big Star (same designer of True Religions), MEK, Silver, Lucky, BKE, Sang Real, Miss Me, and Rock Revival. I've grown to appreciate and even desire to own some of their jeans, but I don't think I'll ever get passed the rhine stones and jewels on t-shirts, women and mens alike. But the Buckle does have some cute "west coast" clothes as they say and hippie/vintage type clothes, where I can feel more in my element.
This is my first job in retail, and I have learned there are three ways to fold jeans. Who knew. I have also been told I look more like an Urban Outfitters type girl than Buckle babe... apparently I need to go shopping. Everyone I work with is very nice and helpful, and there's great management. I guess I'm not used to that after working with a landscaper who hired illegal immigrants and couldn't read his own watch as well as a manager who let his son work all the night shifts so he could sleep off his never-ending hangover. It'll be good experience being part of the Buckle team... I just hope I don't get called out on again for wearing name brand jeans they don't sell.
AHHH, STAY looking like an Urban girl. Don't give into those Ed Hardy-rhinestone wearing pansies.
ReplyDeleteBut way to go, it does feel good to have a job!
Look what I found! It's Meg's blog! Seriously, it's crazy-fun to keep up with you guys! And it's fun to get to know you better this way! Congrats on the job! I've seen your style well enough to know you're not going to become one of THEM. :)
ReplyDeletehi sweetie pie meggie, this is ky & spencey. i am proud of you. i liked this post and update. you always make me smile. very clever. but yeah, don't get baptized into buckle style. ew.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the pictures down the side!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you have a blog!! You are now on my offical friends & family blogger list! Congrats on the job. Oh, and about the camera, I got it off of B&Hphoto.com. It was a little over $1,400-0 with the body and the lens-- its called a camera kit. It's not the best lens, but the camera store here in arizona wanted $1,700 for it-- and thats the standard price. But, I got the 50d, so if thats too much for you-- there are tons of really great cameras under that amount.
ReplyDeleteCongrats and good luck. Sterling says you girls can pull off any outfit. You always look great and you are smart not to buy the $120 dollar pair of jeans and stick with the more affordable type.
ReplyDeletecongrats on the new job! never really shopped there, but been in a couple times. they have some cute watches...i think! if you go to the website picnik.com you can edit your pictures a whole bunch of different ways. i just can't figure out how to get the blue lining off of it. If you figure it out, let me know. But, its so fun! you will love it! also, cute background, i almost picked that one too! ha =]
