Oh, Christmas Tree!

This year we got two Christmas trees! We wanted to keep our tradition alive and chop one down in the forest, but we ended up putting that tree on our patio outside. It was small and sort of weak. For inside our living room I wanted a beautiful lively tree! So after searching for a local tree farm with no luck we ended up going to a tree lot.

I had the whole evening planned. Get our tree, drink hot chocolate, then go out to eat at Merritt's for some soup and scones. Drew tied the tree to our roof with some rope, which was much better than an electric cord like he used for our forest tree on the van--haha. We got a 6-7 footer and I wish it were taller, but it smells amazing! I love relaxing at night on my couch with the fire on and the Christmas tree lights twinkling. I finally have a mantel with stockings hung and it feels pretty awesome. [see pic here]

Van is at just the right age to be obsessed the Christmas tree. We put the ornaments only on the top half and he still manages to pull off the ball and car shaped ornaments. Lately he has discovered pulling the lights off, and whenever it gets quiet I know he's in that little corner causing mischief by the Christmas tree. We are definitely going to wait to put the presents under the tree to avoid more "toys" being thrown. Counting down the days 'til Christmas!
