It's official! We're building a house! 

A couple years ago we purchased some land in a new and upcoming area by the Boise river called the Waterfront District. It's a modern neighborhood surrounded by gorgeous views of the mountains and river. We originally purchased the land as an investment, but since then it has appreciated in value which ended up covering the downpayment to build. Our house is located right between Drew's office and the surf wave and we are so excited for our first home!

When we first started building I didn't even want to take pictures of the progress. The footprint looked so tiny! Our lot is pretty skinny and is actually made for a town home, but we are building a single family home. Luckily we found a great builder who builds custom homes and has a great eye for modern design. He pretty much whipped up the blueprint and we made some tweaks and voila! We have 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and 1,800 square feet of breathing room. We love the open layout and not to mention the view... pretty sure we are towering over everybody else!

The framing phase is well over and we are already moving past dry wall, plumbing, electrical, and siding. The doors are going up, the paint is ready, and everything is on schedule through December to be finished and I'm crossing my fingers to move in by Christmas! I still can't believe we're doing this, and I am so excited to have a place we can call home for a while.
