Here's to catching up on my life...

at our family reunion this summer we went crabbing! there's nothing better than squeezing as many family members as possible on a boat in the middle of the ocean for some true sibling bonding. originally it was a "boys only" outing, but with a little persuasion from my mom to be baby free--i was able to go too.

one of my favorite things about the oregon coast is the foggy coastline. for some reason the dreary weather makes me super happy. so being outside in the early morning in a tiny boat was a dreamy experience. it was fun to learn how to crab. for more information about crabbing you can see my post on our traveling triplets blog here
my family divided into two groups. each team captain picked their crew and we set off our separate ways to compete who could get the most crabs! we spent a few hours putting around the bay dropping and retrieving our baskets. the locals ended up pointing us to the better pods and some even tossed a few of their crabs in our boat! i love nice people.
we weren't the only ones out that early in the morning! the beach was covered with sea lions doing their stinky lazy thing. i can't help but think they look like little poops! haha. ^^that yellow thing is what we used to measure the keeper crabs. we ended up taking over 30 crabs home for dinner that night. drew was the last one to leave the table. i think he ate six crabs!

next family reunion i hope we do something like this again. growing up we used to go clamming in the early morning and this brought back fond memories. i love the oregon coast and can't wait until our next family reunion summer of 2015!
