we learned a lot from our first time camping with baby van. there are so many moments being a new parent where i say to myself, "gosh, i'm a terrible mom." but after each one of these times i forget something or don't notice something about my baby, i learn how to not make that mistake again. we are learning as we go and van is patient with us!
we decided to try camping again, but this time in our backyard. we made foil dinners and roasted marshmallows over the stove for s'mores. by the time it was dark van was snuggled up in his sock monkey bed fast asleep while drew and i watched a movie on the laptop. the wind was blowing the tent around and van slept through it all. i kept checking him throughout the night just to make sure he was ok. he was more than ok, he slept 8 hours!
the next morning we woke up feeling refreshed and proud of our successful camp out. van is officially ready for the wilderness!
