celebration park

this weekend we hiked through the desert into a couple small lakes. it is about two miles in and two miles out. we settled camp near the shoreline and called it home for a night. my nieces loved it and mom and dad even stopped by to say hello! jimmy got to play with his friends sophie (lab) and skipper (schnauzer) and everybody was happy.

that night we made a fire and ate as many s'mores as we wanted. drew and i slept in our new sleeping bags and let jimmy sleep in the tent even though he was covered in crap from swimming and rolling in the dirt. little did we know he had a little tick sucking blood from his ear! eew. poor pitiful pup.

when morning came we rolled out of our sleeping bags, unzipped the tent, and peered over the most peaceful and beautiful lake. we ate breakfast and got ready for our hike to the nearby sand dunes. the girlies could not stop giggling and falling in the sand, and jimmy had fun too.

by afternoon we were hiking back out and stumbled upon a lizard! that was much more exciting than all the stink bugs. bridger, being the amazing dad that he is, ended up packing out his girlies backpacks as well all their other supplies. to top it off, maddy was tired from the sand dunes and couldn't make it another step. bridger threw her on his shoulders and kept on trucking. i was blown away.

it was a fun weekend and we can't wait for our next adventure!
