dear me'me',
i have been wanting to go to france ever since i can remember. i feel so lucky to be here while i'm still young. it's been interesting to visit relatives and learn more about france. i've thought about you often. seeing your home land has helped me understand you better.
now i see why you serve fruit for dessert and bisquit cookies instead of oreos. i remember when i was little i thought that was strange and not as good as chocolate. you started making special chocolate things just for me like pudding so i'd eat what you made. i feel bad about that now, but i love that you cared enough to try new things.
i also thought of you when i visited jacqueline and christian. the walls in their home are dotted with paintings similar to yours. they have a sunroom, just like you, displaying all their artwork and talent. i even went to a place where you painted before and took a picture for you. they also had a fat cat like your old cat sheeba!
i see you when i see cute old ladies snuggled in fancy fur coats and lovely scarves. you have always been a classy lady me'me', like french women are. i smile when i hear french accents in english spoken here, especially words like "basroom" instead of "bathroom".
being here makes me think about how much beauty and culture you left for pe'pe' and your new family. i am so thankful you came to america me'me'. so i can come back here to france and learn for myself why you love it so dearly. i can see now how it has influenced the woman you are today.
i wish i could bring you home your favorite cheese! i will look for it at home if i can remember the name. i am so happy i got to meet your brother and our french relatives. now, can you teach me how to paint?
je t'aime,
megan
