california

a couple weeks ago we headed to california for my sister lisa's wedding.
her wedding was in san diego, so it was a long drive.
we stopped in utah and vegas along the way, and even managed to visit with some friends and surf.
i am so happy for lisa and chase. i have never seen lissy be more herself with anybody, ever.
and more importantly, chase loves her like crazy.
these last couple years haven't been easy for my sis, and i went home many nights telling myself i would do anything for her to be happy.
so i guess that meant i would help make all her wedding wishes come true!
acted as the "bride" while lisa was in hawaii.
it's kind of difficult to plan a wedding taking place in two different states when you live an ocean away.
there were times where i wanted to crawl in a hole and just sleep after reading hundreds of emails concerning bridesmaids shoes to sea glass and cupcakes.
i felt so stressed sometimes, but other times i was just so excited as if it were my own wedding.
but this time, i didn't have to be nervous!
the rondos planned her a beautiful bridal shower and she had a whole clothes line of sexy lingerie.
read more about her shower here.
one day we went to the beach and saw waves full of leopard sharks!
yep, my first time seeing a real life dorsal fin.
there were at least 25 sharks swimming around right in front of us,
and little kids played in the water like it was no big deal.
i don't care if they are harmless, there was no way i was going in the water!
one of the most special moments of our trip to california besides the temple sealing,
was going to the temple for the first time with lissy.
she was eager and beautiful, and i loved being in there with our family.
shortly after, we joined all the ladies for a girls night in downtown san diego.
while lisa was honeymooning in the bahamas,
me and ky got to go to the beach!
ky visited all the way from ecuador to come to lissy's wedding.
it was an overcast day with a cool ocean breeze,
so we sat on the beach and watched the boys surf waves probably bigger than they could handle.
 our last night in california,
we ate dinner on the pier in san clemente while the sun set.
i even met a nice old man who was catching leopard sharks with a bucket!
he had a couple and let me hold one for $5.
just kidding, it wasn't $5.
but it was really cool.
now if i saw that little guy in the water, that would be a different story!
the next day we drove home and somehow convinced ky to stay longer.
we also concluded we should all live in california someday.
