well, our trip to the oregon coast didn't go exactly as planned.
we were planning on taking sunset (our westy) and surfing various spots along the west coast for a few weeks.
unfortunately, after several weeks in the shop sunset had a few more holes to patch.
we were pretty bummed, but were still excited to camp along the way towards depoe bay.
we don't know if this was jimmy's first time seeing the ocean or not,
but we like to think it was.
he was so excited to run along the beach and taste salt water.
we love the cool and misty air the west coast offers.
overall we got pretty lucky with weather and the sun shined almost the whole time.
every day drew would step outside and be slightly disappointed it wasn't overcast.
i was happy to have the sun warm my face, but there is something so inspiring about the typical "gloomy" weather of the oregon coast.

jimmy got dirty quick but we didn't mind a bit.
he was one happy pup.
we stopped to visit some scenic view points and lighthouses,
the octopus tree and tide pools.
read about funny birds that dive off rocky cliffs into the ocean and sometimes miss the ocean (sad).
learn about whales with furry teeth and precious sea life.
and visit several surf breaks to check off our list!

drew was so excited to surf, he surfed three different spots before we even got to our beach house.
i didn't get to surf that day because i didn't have all my wet suit attire yet.
the water is frigid and i wasn't about to go in unprepared!

so i hung out on the beach with jimmy and watched my happy hub master some waves.
because drew was out there for a while.
this guy forgets about everything else in the world while he's surfing.
especially time. and me.
we have more pictures on film of us surfing that i have yet to develop.
i need another underwater adventure before that day comes.

who knows how long it will be until we're itching to surf again.

i could not agree more. the west coast is beyond gorgeous. i love these photos. so adorable and happy. you, pup, hubs and a fun road trip. ideal. and that sucks you couldnt surf but you def need a wetsuit :) looks like a great time.

WTF haha! i live in HAWAII but everywhere is flat. i went in town like a month ago and that was the last time. shooty. cant wait for waves to return to the north shore

OOOHH Megan, you should get the itch to surf again right after Lisa's wedding and come with jedd and I! I would love love looooooove that! maybe i will call you soon. I agree with Lisa, your outfits are HOT, and I love that pic of drew with his huge old grin and wet curly hair. it made me smile and think of jedd on a powder day. now we need to just get surf boards and sunshine ;) and you're making me excited for oregon! i'll keep you posted on my blog. love you and miss you!
