Drew and I have been surfing everyday lately, rain or shine. Sometimes twice a day.
The best days are when it's just the two of us out on the waves. We are always together and we love it.
Everyday Drew comes home and says, "Today I caught the best wave of my life." I laugh because he always says that, but then I smile because I realize he is right. Everyday can be the best day of your life.
I was thinking today about how much I have improved surfing. I remember the first day I went surfing here in Hawaii, I was completely terrified. I think I even cried a little. The waves crashing in my face scared me and I panicked to wipe the salty water out of my eyes before another wave crashed in my face. Then once I got out there I could not stop thinking about "what lies beneath." But the more I surf, the more comfortable I get. The more I surf, the more confident I am. And the more I think about it, the more I realize I am like this in almost all aspects of my life! Funny, right? I remember feeling the exact same way when I got married, complete fear. And now look at me, I'm a happy married woman.
Sometimes in life, you just gotta go for it. You just have to stop thinking, and jump in the cold water and paddle out to catch some waves. Who knows, it could be the best wave of your life.
very cute! very well written - simple and honest and genuine. i like this. props to you. you and drew have no idea how lucky you have it - living the dream life in hawaii together all the time and getting paid to do it.
