It's crazy to think it has already been two years since we got married. Time flies! I can't wait until I'm an old lady saying the same thing with a cute old Drew boy next to me.
February 7th was our big day of celebration. And let me tell you, it was the best anniversary ever! I woke up to an adorable husband with a fresh flower lei in his hands AND a clean shaven face that came with a mighty fine tan line! Well... almost clean shaven. He still can't get rid of the dang mustache. We had plans for chocolate chip and banana pancakes at a local restaurant but quickly found out our car wouldn't start. We tried and tried and it just wouldn't go. So I said a little prayer and we took a break. By the afternoon we gave it another try and she started! We were relieved and excited to start our day, despite the rain.
Each anniversary the traditional gift is something different, and for the second year it is cotton. So, we went shopping. But that's not all, Drew scored some deals on www.groupon.com and we stayed at the Sheraton Resort and ate a delicious meal at Hiroshi Yakiniku in Waikiki.
As you can see, we got hooked up with a partial ocean view. Drew in character with his scotch on the rocks. Kidding, it's just Rockstar. My favorite part was our friendly neighbor above peaking his head over the patio looking down at us, "howdy neighbor!"
Here's a quick little tour of the resort for ya. Our favorites: infinity pool, waterfall, and hot tub. We felt so grown up. We also giggled at ourselves knowing we're on vacation while we live in a vacation spot. Waikiki is definitely a different experience than the North Shore, but it is fun to treat yourself every once in a while.
At nighttime we strolled the streets of Waikiki all romantic-like until we were ready to eat the most amazing meal ever...
SO...MUCH...MEAT! We had way more than the required daily amount of protein. This culinary experience was my best yet. We were able to cook our own meat and vegetables, eat at our own pace, and talk right over the grill. The servers were like silent ninjas, one second my water was empty and the next it was full! So sneaky. At the end of the meal they gave us delicious cream puffs that we melted to perfection. Two very happy and full bellies that night!
To top off our anniversary getaway, the resort gave us some bubbly sparkling cider to celebrate. We made a goal together, during our third year in marriage Drew has promised to give me a puppy. If not a puppy we will save a dog that will always look like a puppy. I cannot wait! Cheers to marriage! Love you Drew, thanks for being my best friend and making my life worth living.
xoxoxo forever
