Yesterday was a lovely day from beginning to end.
Once again, I woke up to a cute husband with a flower lei in his hands. This time the flowers were pink and red and smelled even better than the last. Then he dumped bags of skittles all over me. He had hand written our nicknames for each other on each of the to and from labels. Such a sweetie.
Side note: We currently have no camera because you know us, we like to buy and sell things. So words will have to do for now.
We started our day with banana chocolate chip pancakes in heart shapes, of course. Then we headed to the next town for a picnic on the beach. Along the way, we purchased a new (used) surfboard that we absolutely love! The picnic on the beach was part of my master plan.
I had a package full of Drew's favorite things. The package included gummies, a Led Zeppelin wallet made of duct tape, a VW sticker, a crocheted mustache and lips on sticks, a list of things I love about him, a card, a coupon, a lovey dovey quote, a Spanish haiku, something just for him (wink), and a packed lunch because he loves the beach! I also brought the soccer ball to play on the beach but there were too many people around. Instead we laid in the sand and while we were playing on a rope swing the pigeons ate my delicious sandwich. I was angry at that big ol' fat pigeon.

Drew said I won. Valentines Day isn't a competition, but if you watch Modern Family and saw the Valentines Day episode this year you would think it's funny. He said he won for our anniversary, I agreed.
After our fun little picnic we went surfing and made new friends! We met a nice couple from Australia and at the end of the day they ended up buying our longboard.
Being salty and sticky isn't the most comfortable thing, so we went home and showered. That is when I stumbled upon the sweetest email from my angel mama. Her love letter brought tears to my eyes and happiness to my heart. Thanks mama, I love you so much.
I didn't know what else Drew might have up his sleeve but I did mention I was craving spaghetti. We ended our night with dinner and a movie. Sneaky hub got us reservations at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Honolulu and we had ourselves a delicious dinner. For some reason that place makes Drew think he's an old mobster called "Regular sized Tony."
Finally, we headed back home hand in hand with a lot of "I love you [insert pet name]."
I hope you had a Happy Valentines Day full of love; even if it was shared with your family, friends, or dog. Dogs love you no matter what.
xoxo
